Inspired Journeys has a different approach to life, death, and the beautiful journey in between. It all started in January of 2020 with a dream, a passion for education, and frustration with the status quo.
We are the Midwest’s first woman-owned and client-centered natural deathcare provider. Here’s why that matters:
Woman-Owned: For over 25 years, about 60% of mortuary science graduates have been women. That’s great, right? But among current MN licensed morticians, only about 38% are women, far fewer than those who graduate.
And as for ownership, in 2024, only 53 of the 509 licensed funeral establishments in Minnesota were co-owned by female morticians, and a mere twenty solely owned by a female mortician.
That means that only 4% of all the funeral homes in the state are owned by a woman with a mortuary science degree. Heck yes, we are proud to be woman-owned.
Client-Centered: Client-centered deathcare means that you come first.
- We don’t tell—we listen. We want you to feel heard, respected, and partnered with.
- We don’t sell—we educate. We believe you deserve the straight poop about end of life options and we are honored to help guide you towards your best options.
- We don’t shut you out, we invite you in. We welcome you to care for your person in ways that feel right for you.
- We don’t make you come to us—we’ll come to you. Don’t like walking into a funeral home? Join the club! Only free in the evenings? We get it! We’re happy to meet you where and when you’re available.
- We believe in people over profits. Our pricing is transparent and our business is structured to keep costs low. We are proud to be client-centered.
Natural Deathcare: Conventional funerals needlessly waste resources and we are committed to reducing our impact and offering you options to reduce yours. As of August 2025, Inspired Journeys was one of only two funeral homes in Minnesota certified by the Green Burial Council to provide funeral services that are gentler on the Earth.
We help folks plan for home vigils, green burial, water cremation, and natural organic reduction (NOR), and we offer a wide variety of products that are certified by the Green Burial Council.
Natural deathcare is all we do and we are proud of that distinction.
